Cube Of Three Digit Number More Than The Base Using Yavadunam Method

Cube Of Three Digit Number More Than The Base Using Yavadunam Method: To find cube of a thtree digit number which is more than the base this method can be used. This is very fast method and saves a lot of time in the various competitive exams where each second counts.

Find the cube of 106

Step 1 : Find the surplus in the number as compared to the base. For 106 the nearest base is 100 so the surplus will be 6

We will double the surplus and add it to the number

Result 1 = 6 X 2 + 106 = 12 + 106 = 118

Step 2: Now the surplus in the Result 1 that is 118 when the base is 100 is 18. We will multiply the surplus with the earlier surplus i.e. 6

Result 2= 18 X 6 = 108

Step 3: Find the Cube of the surplus in step 1 that is Cube of  6 is 216

Result 3 = 216

Step 4: The digits at the unit and tens place of the Result 3 are the digits at units and tens place in the answer and the remaining are the carry.

Answer 16

Carry is 2

Step 5: The carry is added to Result 2.  The digits at the unit and tens place of the Resultant Number are the digits at hundreds and thousands place in the answer and the remaining are the carry.

Resultant Number = 108 + 2 = 110

Answer 1016

Carry is 1

Step 6: The Carry is added to the Result 1. The Resultant Number is Leftmost Block of the Answer
